About ShiftText

ShiftText is a free, focused tool for rewriting text in a tone you choose. No signup. No subscription. No dashboards.

We built it because the existing rewriting tools fell into two camps: stripped-down thesauri that swap words without understanding, or bloated all-in-one writing suites that require an account and a credit card to do the one thing you came for.

ShiftText does one thing. You paste text, pick one of five tones — casual, professional, academic, simple, or creative — and get a clean rewrite. Meaning preserved. Wording fresh.

What we don't do

• We don't market this as a way to bypass AI detectors. That's not the point.
• We don't store your text. Input goes to a language model for the rewrite and is discarded after the response.
• We don't lock features behind an account. The free tier covers the common use case.
